I have recently had the pleasure of creating a roof garden in Puglia,Italy. The villa has a large flat roof, with views reaching out across a valley filled with olive groves, trulli and cypress trees. The brief was to create a stylish seating area where friends and family could relax and enjoy the roof’s far reaching views while enjoying a morning coffee or evening drinks. The space was large and a real sun trap, to make it more inviting and to create a sense of intimacy we incorporated several containers filled with Pomegranate trees, Camphor laurels, Begnonia capensis, Photinia Red Robin, Abelia and Jasmine. We can’t wait to see what it will all look like in a year’s time when all the plants have had time to flourish and grow. To create shade we included cantilever umbrellas which could be easily moved and rotated. Cheers!

Breathtaking but declining!
